Friday's Upcoming Economic Releases
On the upcoming economic calendar for Friday, November 21st, there are only two top tier releases scheduled.
The first is the tentatively scheduled press conference from the Bank of Japan. Earlier in the evening the bank will release their overnight rate which is expected to stay on hold at 0.30 percent. This release will be their press conference in response to the statement. It will cover the factors which most affected the most recent rate decision. As well as covering the overall economic outlook, inflation, and clues to what may be coming in future releases from the bank.
Then, at 07:00, Canada will release their monthly core consumer price index. The CPI measures the average price of a fixed market basket of goods and services purchased by consumers, and therefore gives an overall read of inflationary pressures. It is the most widely used inflation indicator of central banks, institutions, and governments. It is used to calculate cost of living numbers for government programs. Analysts estimate that the Canadian CPI will come in slightly lower than the previous release of 0.4 percent to 0.0 percent.
