Japan's Preliminary Leading Index Drops Below 50 in March |

(CEP News) - Japan's preliminary leading economic index, released Friday by the country's Economic and Social Research Council Report, showed that the index fell sharply to 20 in March, down from February's revised reading of 54.5. The reading was in line with consensus.
The coincident index reading in March was 33.3, down last month's reading of 70. The positive indicators for the coincident index came in at 3.00, lower that February's reading of 7.00. The lagging index sagged to 25, down significantly from February's 40.00 level. By Steve Stecyk,
