(CEP News) - Japanese businesses continue to cut back on spending in February, according the latest report from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The all-industry activity index showed a 2.0% drop in February, which was in line with economist expectations. The latest fall in business activity comes after a previous sharp drop in January. The Japanese services industry is weighted heavily in the report, making up two thirds of the headline. The February services sector index, released last week, fell by 0.8% month-over-month.
