Japanese Houshold Spending Falls an Annualized 3.2% in May |

(CEP News) - A government report from Japan showed household spending declined an annual rate of 3.2% in May despite forecasts for a 2.0% fall. In April, spending had declined an annual 2.7%.
In month-over-month terms, spending declined 0.9% in May compared to the previous 0.7% decline in April. The report also stated that real spending from workers declined 0.9% year-over-year following the previous month's 0.6% decline, and rose 0.8% on a monthly basis after the previous 0.5% decline.
