(CEP News) - According to data released from the Bank of Japan on Wednesday, the Japanese monetary base expanded by 0.4% year-over-year in June, slower than the previous month's 0.9% decline.
On a seasonally-adjusted basis, annual money supply rose by 16.8%, continuing the previous month's 13.7% increase. Bank notes in circulation rose 0.7% year-over-year, matching the previous month's decline, and coins in circulation picked up 0.8%, also the same as May's increase. The current account balances declined 2.2% year-over-year after falling 16.0% previously while reserve balances fell 2.9% after declining 16.7% in the previous month. By Erik Kevin Franco,
