(CEP News) - According to figures released by Japan's finance ministry on Friday, official reserves fell to $996.7 billion in August compared to the $1,004.7 billion reported in July.
Foreign currency reserves declined to $971.25 billion from July's figure of $976.95 billion. The IMF reserve position fell to $1.55 billion from $1.61 billion, while Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) moved down to $3.07 billion from $3.15 billion. Gold reserves also declined, falling to $22.49 billion from $22.59 billion. By Erik Kevin Franco,
