(CEP News) - With U.S. markets closed for Independence Day, the Ivey Purchasing Managers' Index takes the spotlight on the final day of the week along with bankruptcy statistics from Industry Canada.
At 8:30 a.m. EDT, Industry Canada will release its Canadian bankruptcy statistics for May. In April, consumer bankruptcies rose 19.3% month-over-month and business bankruptcies picked up 4.8%. Also at 8:30 a.m. EDT, Statistics Canada will release its Pension Plans in Canada report for 2007. At 10 a.m. EDT, the Ivey School of Business will release its manufacturing index for June. The consensus is looking for a decline from June's 62.5 reading to a level of 62.3.
