(CEP News) - Speaking in an interview with Bloomberg Television, European Central Bank council member Michael Bonello said the European Central Bank will act prudently in terms of a rate decision.
"We will be assessing the information as it comes in and take a decision at the next meeting after due deliberation," said Bonello. Bonello commented that the European Union's economy is slowing, but that he could only confirm that when the third-quarter GDP data become available. "There are several indications that the tempo of activity is slowing down, but we have to wait for the GDP number for the third quarter to know exactly the extent of this weakening." Bonello added that the impact of the crisis will be difficult to predict. By Steve Stecyk,
