(CEP News) Frankfurt - European Central Bank Executive Board member Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell said the ECB does not see deflation risks in the euro zone and that inflation expectations "are still in line" with its inflation target of "close to, but below 2%".
Speaking in an interview with German daily Badishe Neuste Nachrichten published on Wednesday, Tumpel-Gugerell also said the central bank and European governments were doing all they can to fight the crisis and that conditions "are in place for an economic recovery". The policy-maker also noted that rate cuts take time to work their way into the markets. Written by CEP News European Staff,
