(CEP News) - Speaking to local radio station RTL on Tuesday, EuroGroup President Jean-Claude Juncker said he was disappointed that the U.S. financial bailout package did not pass and urged lawmakers to reconsider legislating.
"It would have created the possibility to reduce the nervousness and anxiety on the financial markets," Juncker said, adding that the world is changing and we will never return to the point where we once were. The lawmaker confirmed that he would be meeting with European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet and other G8 leaders to discuss solutions to the crisis. "We all agree that the method by which everyone comes up with (an) ad hoc solution in his (own) corner the moment a crisis starts in a financial company isn't a systematic enough method," he said.
