(CEP News) - The French current account deficit contracted to €2.2 billion in February versus a revised €2.5 billion level the month prior, according to a report from the Bank of France on Tuesday.
The central bank reported that the goods trade deficit fell to €4.9 billion in February from €4.8 billion previously, while the services trade surplus rose to €1.5 billion, compared to the €1.0 billion reported in January. Revenues slid to €3.2 billion from the prior month's €3.3 billion level, while current transfers remained stable at -€2.0 billion. January's unrevised deficit was €2.8 billion. By Erik Kevin Franco,
