(CEP News) - According to the National Statistics Service of Greece on Friday, retail sales for the country rose an annual 4.6% in June despite an upwardly revised prior growth rate of 5.9% in May.
Prior to revisions, May's growth rate had been 5.8% on the year. Sales of food products advanced 5.6% while those of non-food products picked up 3.8%, the statistics bureau said. The largest increases were seen in the sales of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, advancing 8.2% over the last twelve months followed by a 6.1% increase in supermarket sales and a 4.5% rise in household and furniture products.
