Monetary Policy Has Room for Further Easing, Says ECB's Weber |

(CEP News) Frankfurt - European Central Bank Governing Council member Axel Weber said that with the "remarkable decline" in inflation pressures and the "rapidly" worsening economic outlook for the euro zone, the ECB has room to make further cuts to its main refinancing rate.
"Owing to a remarkable decline in inflationary pressures in the medium term and rapidly deteriorating economic prospects, euro-area monetary policy in my view has enough leeway for further easing if necessary," Weber said on Friday at a conference in Frankfurt, Germany. By Todd Wailoo,
