(CEP News) Frankfurt - According to the provisional estimates from Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, industrial output fell on a monthly basis by 2.4% in March, following February's 4.5% rise.
Year-over-year, industrial production rose 1.0%, down from the 7.5% jump seen in the previous month. The Statistical Office also announced that the Slovenian trade deficit for March rose to €200 million in March from the previous month's deficit level of €167 million. February's figure was revised down from a deficit of €175 million. "In March 2008 Slovenia exported goods worth EUR 1,715.0 million and imported goods worth EUR 1,914.6 million, which means that exports represented 89.6% of imports," the statistics office said in a press release. "In March, exports, given in EUR, was 3.2% lower than in March 2007, while imports exceeded the March 2007 value of imports by 1.5%." By Todd Wailoo,
