(CEP News) Frankfurt - The number of unemployed persons in Switzerland climbed to 118,762 in December from 107,652, pushing the unemployment rate to 3.0% in non-seasonally adjusted terms from the prior rate of 2.7%, according to the State secretariat for Economic Affairs.
The median consensus had expected a less pronounced increase in the jobless rate to 2.9%. Adjusting for seasonality, the number of jobless rose from 106,666 to 111,162, leading the unemployment rate to rise to 2.8%, up 0.1 percentage points from November's level.
