UK's Darling Denies Reports of New State Capital Injections into Banks |

(CEP News) Frankfurt - While stressing that lending levels to households and firms remain at unsatisfactory levels, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling denied reports that further capital injections from the state into UK banks are being sought after.
"Recapitalization is not the first port of call, but over the next few weeks, we will continue to discuss what measures are needed," Darling said in an interview with BBC radio on Sunday.
