(CEP News) - Asia-Pacific fixed income markets are mixed and equities are higher with yields on Australian 10-year bonds down 4.8 bps to 4.24 % and Japanese 10-year government bonds up 0.7 bps to 1.27 %.
Sydney's S&P ASX 200 is up 51.60 points to 3794.3. The Japanese Nikkei is up 182.31 points to 9263.148 and the Hang Seng down 22.45 points to 15487.06. Yields on three-year Australian bonds are up 1.7 bps to 4.06 and the Australian 90-day March 09 contract is down 4.0 ticks to 96.74. The Euroyen March 09 contract is down 2.0 ticks to 99.42. The Australian dollar is down 0.12 cents to 0.7223 against the USD and down 0.12 cents to 0.8554 against the Canadian dollar. Against the yen, the U.S. dollar is up 0.17 points to 93.82 and the Canadian dollar is up 0.14 points to 79.21. The euro is down 0.20 cents to 1.3514 USD. All data taken at 10:17 p.m. EST.
