(CEP News) - Asia-Pacific fixed income markets are gaining and equities closed mixed with yields on Australian 10-year bonds down 7.4 bps to 6.42% and Japanese 10-year government bonds down 2.7 bps to 1.64%.
Sydney's S&P ASX 200 closed up 83.80 points to 5082.1. The Japanese Nikkei closed down 27.51 points to 13237.89 and the Hang Seng finished the session up 181.04 points to 21423.82. Yields on three-year Australian bonds were down 2.1 bps to 7.78 and the Australian 90-day September 08 contract was down 1.0 ticks to 92.14. The Euroyen September 08 contract was flat at 99.14. The Australian dollar was up 0.24 cents to 0.9627 against the USD and up 0.01 cents to 0.9776 against the Canadian dollar. Against the yen, the U.S. dollar was up 0.06 points to 106.79 and the Canadian dollar was up 0.32 points to 105.17. The euro was unchanged at 1.5700 USD. All data taken at 5:56 a.m. EDT.
