(CEP News) - The German 10-year Bund was down 12.0 ticks to 124.60 with yields up 1.9 bps to 3.04%, while the 10-year Gilt was down 29.0 ticks to 122.13 with yields up 2.8 bps to 3.16%. The euro was down 1.24 cents to 1.335 USD.
The five-year Bobl was down 14.5 ticks to 116.38, the two-year Schatz down 6.0 ticks to 107.81 and the March 2009 Euribor contract trading up 3.5 ticks to 98.02. The spread between the 10-year Bund and 10-year U.S. Treasury notes narrowed 0.473 bps to -63.50. UK 30-year bond yields were up 3.0 bps to 3.89%, five-year bond yields were up 2.4 bps to 2.70%, while yields on the two-year bond were up 0.3 bps to 1.61%. The March 2009 Short Sterling contract was up 5.5 ticks to 98.55. Yields on U.S. 10-year Treasury notes were up 1.1 bps to 2.401%. European stock markets were mixed with the Eurostoxx down 13.15 points to 2145.80, the UK FTSE 100 up 2.06 points to 4450.602 and the German DAX down 16.32 points to 4767.57. The Japanese Nikkei was trading down 39.62 points to 8836.80. The Canadian dollar was down 0.86 cents to 0.8350 against the USD (1.1975 USD/CAD). Against the euro, the loonie was down 0.07 cents to 0.6255 (1.5987 CAD/EUR). The U.S. dollar was down 0.25 to 90.15 and the euro was down 1.44 to 120.33, both against the yen. The euro was down 1.24 cents to 1.335 while the pound sterling was down 2.21 cents to 1.4942, both against the USD. The euro was up 0.51 cents to 0.8936 pounds.
