EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1202; (P) 1.1213; (R1) 1.1221; More

EUR/USD drops further to as low as 1.1163 so far in early US session. Intraday bias remains on the downside for retesting 1.1107 low. At this point, we’re not expecting a break there yet. Thus, focus will be on bottoming signals around 1.1107. Though, break of 1.1282 resistance is needed to signal completion of fall from 1.1412. Otherwise, further decline is in favor even in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, on the one hand, 1.1107 is seen as a medium term bottom on bullish convergence condition in weekly MACD. On the other hand, rejection by 55 week EMA retains medium term bearishness. Outlook stays neutral for now. On the downside, break of 1.1107 will resume the down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) to 78.6% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.0813. Meanwhile, break of 1.1412 will resume the rebound to 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1107 at 1.1660.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1712; (P) 1.1755; (R1) 1.1785; More…..

As noted before, the corrective rise from 1.1300 should have completed at 1.1814, after meeting strong resistance from 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1300 at 1.1779. Intraday bias remains on the downside for 1.1525 support first. Break will confirm this bearish case and target a test on 1.1300 low. On the upside, again, sustained break of 1.1779 will dampen our view and extend the rise from 1.1300.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom should be in place at 1.1300, on bullish convergence condition in daily MACD and some consolidations would be seen. But still, note that EUR/USD was rejected by 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. That carries some long term bearish implications. Thus, we’d expect fall from 1.2555 high to resume after consolidation completes. Below 1.1300 should send EUR/USD through 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186. And, in that case, EUR/USD would head to retest 1.0339 (2017 low).

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1349; (P) 1.1398; (R1) 1.1462; More…..

As long as 1.1335 minor support holds, further rise is still expected in EUR/USD. Prior break of 1.1419 resistance is taken as the first sign of medium term bottom. Further rally would be seen to 1.1514/1569 resistance zone first. On the downside, break of 1.1335 minor support is needed to indication completion of the rise from 1.1176. Otherwise, near term outlook will remain cautiously bullish in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that a medium term bottom could be formed at 1.1176 already. That came after hitting 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.1186, on bullish convergence condition in daily MACD. Further rally could be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1176 at 1.1703. It’s a bit early to confirm medium term bullish reversal. The structure of the rise from 1.1176 and reaction to 1.1703 fibonacci level will be watched for making an assessment later. But in any case, decisive break of 1.1176 is needed to confirm resumption of down trend. Otherwise, outlook is neutral at worst.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0747; (P) 1.0776; (R1) 1.0792; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD stays on the downside for the moment, as fall from 1.1016 short term top is in progress. Sustained break of 55 D EMA (now at 1.0770) will pave the way to retest 1.0447 support. On the upside, above 1.0804 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.1016 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.1274 are viewed as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.9534 (2022 low). Rise from 1.0447 is tentatively seen as the second leg. Hence while further rally could be seen, upside should be limited by 1.1274 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, sustained break of 55 D EMA will argue that the third leg has already started for 1.0447 and below.

EUR/USD’s fall from 1.1239 is in progress and intraday bias stays on the downside for 1.0981 support. break there should confirm completion of corrective rise from 1.0879 at 1.1239. Further fall should then be seen to retest 1.0879 low. On the upside, above 1.1061 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.1172 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 1.0879 is seen as a corrective move at this point. In case of another rise, upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.0879 at 1.1519. And, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) would resume at a later stage. However, sustained break of 1.1519 will dampen this bearish view and bring stronger rise to 61.8% retracement at 1.1915 next.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1583; (P) 1.1605; (R1) 1.1624; More

EUR/USD recovers today but stays below 1.1668 temporary top. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, break of 1.1668 will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.1688). Sustained break there will be a sign that larger correction from 1.2348 has completed. Stronger rally would be seen to 1.1908 resistance for confirmation. On the downside, though, break of 1.1571 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.1523 support instead. Break there will resume larger fall from 1.2348.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.2348 should at least be a correction to rise from 1.0635 (2020 low). As long as 1.1908 resistance holds, deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.2348 at 1.1289. Nevertheless break of 1.1908 resistance will revive medium term bullishness and turn focus back to 1.2348 high.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1816; (P) 1.1857 (R1) 1.1891; More….

No change in EUR/USD’s outlook. Despite diminishing downside momentum, intraday bias stays on the downside with 1.1938 minor resistance intact. Current should extend to 261.8% projection of 1.2475 to 1.2214 from 1.2413 at 1.1730. As it will then be close to 1.1708 medium term fibonacci level, some support could be seen around 1.1708/30 to bring rebound. Meanwhile, break of 1.1938 should confirm short term bottoming, on bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD. And stronger rebound would be seen first.

In the bigger picture, current decline and firm break of 1.2154 support confirms rejection by 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. A medium term top should be in place at 1.2555 and deeper decline would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1708 first. With current downside acceleration, there is prospect of hitting 61.8% retracement at 1.1186 before completing the decline. But still, we’ll need to look at the structure before deciding if it’s a corrective or impulsive move.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0612; (P) 1.0722; (R1) 1.0805; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 1.0635 temporary low. Stronger recovery cannot be ruled out but upside should be limited by 1.0981 resistance to bring fall resumption. on the downside, break of 1.0635 will extend larger down trend for 1.0397 projection target next.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend form 1.2555 (2018 high) should have resumed. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2555 to 1.0777 from 1.1496 at 1.0397. This level is close to 1.0339 (2017 low). On the upside, break of 1.1496 resistance is needed to indicate medium term reversal. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

EUR/USD’s rebound from 1.1111 extends higher today but outlook is unchanged. Such recovery is seen as a corrective move. Upside should be limited well below 1.1324 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, below 1.1175 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.1111 first. Break there will resume larger down trend from 1.2555. However, firm break of 1.1324 resistance will be an early indication of larger bullish reversal and turn focus to 1.1448 resistance.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) has just resumed. Current fall should now target 78.6% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.0813. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 1.0339. On the downside, break of 1.1448 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1306; (P) 1.1367 (R1) 1.1404; More…..

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains on the downside as down trend continues. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2413 to 1.1509 from 1.1745 at 1.1186. Note that it’s a cluster level with 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186. Hence, we’ll tentatively look for short term bottoming around 1.1186. On the upside, above 1.1430 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations again.

In the bigger picture, the down trend from 1.2555 medium term is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186. Note again that EUR/USD was rejected by 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. That carries some long term bearish implications. Sustained break of 1.1186 could pave the way back to retest 1.0339 low. For now, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.1851 resistance holds, even in case of strong rebound.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0919; (P) 1.0957; (R1) 1.1022; More

EUR/USD’s break of 1.1008 minor resistance suggest resumption of rise from 1.0774. Also, corrective pattern from 1.0635 is in another rising leg. Intraday bias is now on the upside for 1.1147 resistance. Though, we’d still expect upside to be limited by 61.8% retracement of 1.1496 to 1.0635 at 1.1167. On the downside, break of 1.0870 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.0774 support first.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1496 resistance holds, whole down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) should still be in progress. Next target is 1.0339 (2017 low). However, sustained break of 1.1496 will argue that such down trend has completed. Rise from 1.0635 could then be seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339. In this case, outlook will be turned bullish for retesting 1.2555.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0689; (P) 1.0718; (R1) 1.0763; More

EUR/USD’s fall from 1.1094 resumed after brief recovery and intraday bias is back on the downside. Current fall is seen as corrective the whole up trend from 0.9534. Deeper fall should be seen to 1.0515 cluster support, 38.2% retracement of 0.9534 to 1.1094 at 1.0498. On the upside, break of 1.0745 resistance will indicate short term bottoming. Stronger rebound would be seen back to 55 D EMA (now at 1.0836).

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.0515 support holds, rise from 0.9534 (2022 low) would still extend higher. Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.2348 (2021 high) to 0.9534 at 1.1273 will solidify the case of bullish trend reversal and target 1.2348 resistance next (2021 high).

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Range trading continues in EUR/USD and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. On the upside, firm break of 1.1382 resistance should confirm short term bottoming at 1.1186. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.1487). On the downside, break of 1.1185 will resume larger fall from 1.2348.

In the bigger picture, there are various ways of interpreting the fall from 1.2348 (2021 high). It could be a correction to rise from 1.0635 (2020 low), the fourth leg of a sideway pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low), or resuming long term down trend. In any case, outlook will now stay bearish as long as 1.1703 support turned resistance holds. Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.2348 at 1.1289 would pave the way back to 1.0635.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains on the downside at this point. Fall from 1.1448 is target 1.1176 low. Decisive break there will resume whole decline from 1.2555. On the upside, however, break of 1.1331 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.1448 instead.

In the bigger picture, medium term outlooks is a bit mixed for now as there are conflicting signals. We’ll turn neutral first. On the downside, decisive break of 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.1186 will resume the whole down trend from 1.2555. Next target will be 1.0339 low. Nevertheless, break of 1.1569 resistance should confirm medium term bottoming. Stronger rebound should be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1176 at 1.1703. In that case, the structure of the rise from 1.1176 and reaction to 1.1703 fibonacci level will be watched for making an assessment on whether medium term trend has reversed, or rebound form 1.1176 is merely a correction.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains on the upside for 1.1147 resistance. Price actions from 1.0635 are seen as a corrective pattern. Upside should be limited by 61.8% retracement of 1.1496 to 1.0635 at 1.1167. On the downside, below 1.0991 minor support will turn intraday bias to the downside for 1.0870 support. However, sustained break of 1.1167 will pave the way to 1.1496 key resistance next.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1214; (P) 1.1253; (R1) 1.1275; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Current down trend from 1.2348 should target 161.8% projection of 1.1908 to 1.1523 from 1.1691 at 1.1068 next. On the upside, break of 1.1373 resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of recovery.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1702; (P) 1.1744; (R1) 1.1819; More…..

EUR/USD’s rally is still in progress with no sign of topping yet. Focus stays on key resistance at 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1300 at 1.1779. Rejection from 1.1779 and break of 1.1649 minor support will indicate that corrective rise from 1.1300 has completed. That will be in line with our original view and turn bias to the downside for 1.1525 support for confirmation. However, sustained break of 1.1779 will extend the corrective rise from 1.1300 to 100% projection of 1.1300 to 1.1733 from 1.1525 at 1.1958 before completion.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD edged lower to 1.1751 last week with weak downside momentum as seen in 4 hour MACD. Outlook is unchanged this week that further fall is expected as long as 1.1880 resistance holds. Current decline from 1.2265, as the third leg of correction from 1.2348 would target 1.1703 support. However, break of 1.1880 will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound to 1.1974 resistance first.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0635 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rally could be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1602 support holds. Reaction from 1.2555 should reveal underlying long term momentum in the pair. However sustained break of 1.1602 will argue that the rise from 1.0635 is over, and turn medium term outlook bearish again.

In the long term picture, focus remains on 1.2555 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516). Sustained break there should confirm long term bullish reversal and target 61.8% retracement at 1.3862 and above. However, rejection by 1.2555 will keep medium term outlook neutral first, and raise the prospect of down trend resumption at a later stage.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2018; (P) 1.2059; (R1) 1.2091; More

EUR/USD’s break of 1.2022 support suggests that corrective pattern from 1.2348 has started the third leg. Intraday bias stays on the downside for 1.1951 support. Break will target 100% projection of 1.2348 to 1.1951 from 1.2242 at 1.1845. On the upside, above 1.2100 minor resistance will turn bias neutral first. Risk will stay mildly on the downside as long as 1.2242 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

We’d be alerted to topping sign around 1.2516/55. But sustained break there will carry long term bullish implications.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0995; (P) 1.1032; (R1) 1.1055; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the downside, below 1.0899 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 61.8% projection of 1.2265 to 1.1120 from 1.1494 at 1.0786. However, firm break of 1.1120 will confirm short term bottoming at 1.0805. Bias will be back on the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.1198) and above.

In the bigger picture, the decline from 1.2348 (2021 high) is expected to continue as long as 1.1494 resistance holds. Firm break of 1.0635 (2020 low) will raise the chance of long term down trend resumption and target a retest on 1.0339 (2017 low) next. Nevertheless, break of 1.1494 will maintain medium term neutral outlook, and extending term range trading first.
