EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1824; (P) 1.1846; (R1) 1.1879; More…..

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral for the moment and more consolidative trading could be seen. On the upside, break of 1.1920 will reaffirm the case that consolidation from 1.2011 has completed at 1.1602. Further rise would be seen to retest 1.2011 high. However, break of 1.1745 support will turn bias to the downside to extend the consolidation with another falling leg.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0635 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rally could be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1422 resistance turned support holds.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2137; (P) 1.2217; (R1) 1.2272; More….

EUR/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.2272 and intraday bias stays neutral first. In case of another fall as the consolidation extends, downside should be contained by 1.2058 support to bring rebound. On the upside, though, firm break of 1.2272 will resume larger rally to 61.8% projection of 1.0635 to 1.2011 from 1.1602 at 1.2452 next.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0635 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rally could be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1602 support holds. We’d be alerted to topping sign around 1.2516/55. But sustained break there will carry long term bullish implications.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1254; (P) 1.1312; (R1) 1.1344; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains mildly on the downside at this point. Recovery from 1.1107 might have completed earlier than expected at 1.1412. Break of 1.1181 support will confirm and bring retest of 1.1107 low. Though, above 1.1344 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside to resume the rebound from 1.1107 through 1.1412 instead.

In the bigger picture, considering bullish convergence condition in daily and weekly MACD, a medium term bottom should be in place at 1.1107 after hitting 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.1186. Further rise should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1107 at 1.1660. Reactions from there could indicate whether rebound from 1.1107 is a corrective rise or reversing medium term trend. In any case, risk will stay mildly on the upside as long as 1.1107 low remains intact.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD recovered last week but failed to break through 4 hour 55 EMA. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. On the downside, break of 1.1846 will resume the fall from 1.2265, as the third leg of the consolidation pattern from 1.2348, to 1.1703 support. On the upside, sustained break of 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.1971) will bring stronger rise back to 1.2265 resistance instead.

Reaction from 1.2555 should reveal underlying long term momentum in the pair. However sustained break of 1.1602 will argue that the rise from 1.0635 is over, and turn medium term outlook bearish again.

In the long term picture, focus remains on 1.2555 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516). Sustained break there should confirm long term bullish reversal and target 61.8% retracement at 1.3862 and above. However, rejection by 1.2555 will keep medium term outlook neutral first, and raise the prospect of down trend resumption at a later stage.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2264; (P) 1.2342 (R1) 1.2386; More….

EUR/USD is still holding above 1.2285 minor support. Intraday bias is staying neutral at this point. On the upside, above 1.2475 will target a test on 1.2555 high, which is close to 1.2516 key long term fibonacci level. We’d be cautious on reversal from there. But decisive break will carry larger bullish implications. On the downside, below 1.2285 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.2154 and possibly below.

In the bigger picture, key fibonacci level at 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516 remains intact despite attempts to break. Hence, rise from 1.0339 medium term bottom is still seen as a corrective move for the moment. Rejection from 1.2516 will maintain long term bearish outlook and keep the case for retesting 1.0039 alive. Firm break of 1.1553 support will add more medium term bearishness. However, sustained break of 1.2516 will carry larger bullish implication and target 61.8% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.3862 in medium term.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD recovered further to 1.1371 last week but formed a temporary top there and turned sideway. Initial bias is neutral this week first. On the upside, break of 1.1371 would extend the rebound from 1.1234. In that case, rise from 1.1234 is seen as another leg in the consolidation pattern from 1.1215 and should target 1.1514 resistance. On the downside, break of 1.1275 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.1215 low instead. Decisive break there will confirm completion of consolidation from 1.1215, and resumption of down trend from 1.2555.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1814 resistance holds, down trend down trend from 1.2555 medium term top is still in progress and should target 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2017 low) to 1.2555 at 1.1186 next. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 1.0339. However, break of 1.1814 will confirm completion of such down trend and turn medium term outlook bullish.

In the long term picture, the rejection from 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 argues that long term down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) might not be over yet. EUR/USD is also held below decade long trend line resistance. Firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186 should at least bring a retest on 1.0339 low. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1814 resistance holds.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD dropped further lower to 1.1509 last week but formed a short term bottom there and rebound. Initial bias is neutral this week for consolidation and stronger recovery cannot be ruled out. But we’d expect strong resistance from 1.1822/1995 resistance zone to limit upside and bring fall resumption eventually. On the downside, break of 1.1509 will resume the decline from 1.2555 and target 50% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1447 first. Break will target 61.8% retracement at 1.1186 next.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that EUR/USD was rejected by 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. And, a medium term top was formed at 1.2555 already. Decline from there should extend further to 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186 and below. For now, even in case of rebound, we won’t consider the fall from 1.2555 as finished as long as 1.1995 resistance holds.

In the long term picture, the rejection from 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 argues that long term down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) might not be over yet. EUR/USD is also held below decade long trend line resistance. Focus will now turn to 1.1553 support. Sustained break there would raise the chance of retesting 1.0339 low. It’s early to tell, but the chance of long term bullish reversal is fading.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD’s decline last week was contained above 1.0727 support and recovered. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Corrective pattern from 1.0635 could extend further. On the upside, above 1.0895 minor resistance will turn bias to the upside for 1.1019 resistance. But overall, upside should be limited by 61.8% retracement of 1.1496 to 1.0635 at 1.1167. On the downside, break of 1.0727 will target a test on 1.0635 low.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1496 resistance holds, whole down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) should still be in progress. Next target is 1.0339 (2017 low). However, sustained break of 1.1496 will argue that such down trend has completed. Rise from 1.0635 could then be seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339. In this case, outlook will be turned bullish for retesting 1.2555.

In the long term picture, outlook remains bearish for now. EUR/USD is held below decade long trend line that started from 1.6039 (2008 high). It was also rejected by 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 before. On break of 1.0339, next target will be 100% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0339 from 1.2555 at 0.8901.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD staged a strong rebound last week and hit as high as 1.1147. Initial bias stays on the upside this week with focus on 61.8% retracement of 1.1496 to 1.0635 at 1.1167. Sustained break there will raise the chance of larger trend reversal and turn focus to 1.1496 key resistance. On the downside, break of 1.0953 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.0635 low instead.

EUR/USD dropped to 1.1234 last week but recovered again ahead of 1.1215 low. Initial bias is turned neutral this week first. Further decline is expected as long as 1.1341 resistance holds. Decisive break of 1.1215 will resume the larger down trend from 1.2555 to 1.1186 fibonacci level next. Nevertheless, break of 1.1341 will suggests that consolidation from 1.1215 is extending with another rising leg back towards 1.1514 resistance.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2273; (P) 1.2309 (R1) 1.2337; More….

EUR/USD’s strong break of 1.2285 support should now confirm completion of the three wave rebound from 1.2154, at 1.2475. Intraday bias is back to the downside for 1.2238 support and then 1.2154. Note that, current development is also seen as another sign of rejection by 1.2516 key fibonacci level. Firm break of 1.2154 will pave the way to 38.2% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1708. This will now be the preferred case as long as 1.2344 resistance holds.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1917; (P) 1.1946; (R1) 1.1966; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD stays neutral at this point. On the downside, break of 1.1846 will resume the fall from 1.2265, as the third leg of the consolidation pattern from 1.2348, to 1.1703 support. On the upside, break of 1.1974 minor resistance will bring stronger rise back to 1.2265 resistance instead.

Reaction from 1.2555 should reveal underlying long term momentum in the pair. However sustained break of 1.1602 will argue that the rise from 1.0635 is over, and turn medium term outlook bearish again.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2344; (P) 1.2369 (R1) 1.2393; More….

EUR/USD lost momentum after hitting 1.2396, as seen in 4 hour MACD. Intraday bias is turned neutral first. As long as 1.2302 minor support holds, further rise is in favor. Above 1.2396 will target 1.2475 first. Break will target key resistance level at 1.2555 high. However, as EUR/USD is still bounded in range trading pattern from 1.2555, break of 1.2302 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2214 instead.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1548; (P) 1.1588; (R1) 1.1635; More…..

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains on the upside at this point. Current rise from 1.0635 is still in progress for 100% projection of 1.0774 to 1.1422 from 1.1168 at 1.1816 next. On the downside, break of 1.1422 resistance turned support is needed to indicate short term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, sustained trading above 1.1496 key resistance will argue that whole down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) has completed at 1.0635. Rise from 1.0635 would then be seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339. Further medium term rally would be seen to retest 1.2555. This will now be the favored case as long as 1.1168 support holds.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2264; (P) 1.2342 (R1) 1.2386; More….

While the decline from 1.2475 is deep, EUR/USD is still holding above 1.2285 minor support. Intraday bias is staying neutral first.

EUR/USD rose to as high as 1.1908 last week but formed a temporary top there and retreated. Initial bias is neutral this week first. Considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 1.1698 minor support will suggest short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned to the downside for deeper pull back. But downside should be contained above 1.1422 resistance turned support to bring rebound. On the upside, above 1.1908 will resume the whole rise from 1.0635 instead.

In the bigger picture, the strong break of 1.1496 resistance now suggests that whole down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) has completed at 1.0635 already. Rise from 1.0635 should be the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rise should be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 ). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1422 resistance turned support holds.

In the long term picture, the strong break of 55 month EMA is taken as a sign of long term trend reversal. Immediate focus will be on decade long trend line resistance (now at 1.1748). Sustained trading above there will add more credence to the case that down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) has finished at 1.0339. Further break of 1.2555 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516) will confirm and target 61.8% retracement at 1.3862 and above.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD dipped 1.2154 last week but drew support from 55 day EMA and rebounded. The failure to sustain below 1.2205 key support didn’t confirm trend reversal. Initial bias is neutral this week first. on the upside, above 1.2354 minor resistance will bring retest of 1.2555 high. Firm break there will carry larger bullish implication. On the downside, break of 1.2154 would revive the case of rejection by 1.2516 key fibonacci level and trend reversal. Outlook will be turned bearish for 38.2% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1708.

However, sustained break of 1.2516 will carry larger bullish implication and target 61.8% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.3862.

In the long term picture, 1.0339 is seen as an important bottom as the down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) could have completed. It’s still early to decide whether price action from 1.0339 is developing into a corrective or impulsive pattern. Reaction to 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 will give important clue to the underlying momentum.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD’s fall last week suggests that corrective recovery from 1.0635 has completed at 1.1147, after rejection by 61.8% retracement of 1.1496 to 1.0635 at 1.1167. Initial bias stays on the downside this week for retesting 1.0635 low first. Decisive break there will resume larger down trend. On the upside, above 1.0926 minor resistance will extend the correction from 1.0635. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.1167.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1420; (P) 1.1440; (R1) 1.1457; More…..

EUR/USD is still bounded in range of 1.1407/1514. Intraday bias stays neutral for the moment. Another rise is mildly in favor with 1.1407 minor support intact. Rise from 1.1289 is seen as another rising leg in the correction pattern from 1.1215. Above 1.1514 will target 1.1569 resistance and above. On the downside, break of 1.1407 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.1289 support instead.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD rebounded to as high as 1.1485 last week but couldn’t break through 1.1499 resistance and then retreated sharply. Intraday bias is now neutral first. On the upside, break of 1.1485 resistance will revive the case of near term reversal. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.1621 resistance first. Break will target 1.1814 key resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.1270 will, instead, revive the bearish case that down trend from 1.2555 is still in progress. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.1186 key fibonacci level.
