GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3131; (P) 1.3172; (R1) 1.3237; More….

GBP/USD’s rally resumed after brief consolidations and intraday bias is back on the upside. Current rise from 1.1958 is in progress for 1.3381 resistance next. On the downside, below 1.3107 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral again. Downside of retreat should be contained by 1.3012 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds. However, firm break of 1.2582 will turn focus back to 1.1946 low.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2213; (P) 1.2257; (R1) 1.2284; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Current fall from 1.3141 is in progress for 1.2075 fibonacci level. On the upside, above 1.2369 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations. But near term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.2618 support turned resistance holds, in case of strong recovery.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. However, sustained break of 1.2075 will raise the chance of bearish trend reversal and target 1.1801 structural support next.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2862; (P) 1.2907; (R1) 1.2977; More….

GBP/USD’s rally extends to as high as 1.2986 so far today and intraday bias remains on the upside. Current rise from 1.1409 should target 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.3303 next. On the downside, below 1.2912 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But retreat should be contained well above 1.2669 resistance turned support to bring another rally.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3646; (P) 1.3680; (R1) 1.3737; More

GBP/USD’s rise from 1.3158 is in progress and hits as high as 1.3746 so far. Intraday bias remains on the upside for 1.3833 resistance first. As noted before, corrective fall from 1.4282 should have completed with three waves down to 1.3158, after hitting 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level. Sustained break of 1.3833 will pave the way back to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, below 1.3619 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further rise will remain in favor as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3479) holds.

In the bigger picture, strong support was seen from 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. The development suggests that up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. On resumption, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3164 will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2421; (P) 1.2451; (R1) 1.2486; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.2404 is extending. Upside of recovery should be limited by 1.2538 support turned resistance to bring another fall. On the downside, firm break of 1.2404 will resume the decline from 1.2892 to 100% projection of 1.2892 to 1.2538 from 1.2708 at 1.2354. Firm break there will target 161.8% projection at 1.2207 next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.2036 support and possibly below. But strong support should emerge from 61.8% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2452 at 1.1417 to complete the correction.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2165; (P) 1.2295; (R1) 1.2388; More

GBP/USD is losing some downside momentum as seen in 4 hour MACD. But there is no sign of bottoming yet. Intraday bias remains on the downside. Current decline from 1.3514 should target a test on 1.1958 low. On the upside, above 1.2421 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further fall will be expected as long as 1.2725 support turned resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that price actions from 1.1946 (2016 low) are merely a consolidation pattern, with the third leg completed at 1.3514. Rejection by 55 month EMA also solidify long term bearishness. Focus is back on 1.19146 low. Decisive break there will resume larger down trend form 2.1161 (2007 high). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.3514 resistance holds.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD edged higher to 1.4376 last week but reversed and dropped sharply to close at 1.3995. Initial bias remains on the downside this week for 1.3965 support first. Break there will pave the way to 1.3711 key support level. On the upside, above 1.4069 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations. But for now, near term risk will stay on the downside as long as 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.4173 holds).

In the bigger picture, bearish divergence condition in daily MACD is raising the chance of medium term reversal. Also, note that GBP/USD has just failed to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4257). Focus is back on 1.3711 support. Firm break there will confirm medium term reversal and target 38.2% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.3448 first. Break will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2874 and below. For now, sustained break of 55 month EMA is needed to confirm medium term upside momentum. Otherwise, we won’t turn bullish even in case of strong rebound.

In the longer term picture, rise from 1.1946 (2016 low) is viewed as a corrective move, no change in this view. Focus stays on 55 month EMA (now at 1.4257. Rejection from there will turn focus back to 1.1946 low and could probably extend the down trend from 2.1161. On the other hand, sustained break of the EMA would at least bring further rally to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3239; (P) 1.3276; (R1) 1.3307; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and consolidation from 1.3313 could extend further. With 1.3106 support intact, further rise is still in favor. On the upside, break of 1.3313 will resume the rise from 1.2675 and bring retest of 1.3482 high. However, sustained break of 1.3106 will argue that the rebound from 1.2675 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2853 support.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3304). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3091; (P) 1.3128; (R1) 1.3197; More

100% projection of 1.2661 to 1.3042 from 1.2784 at 1.3165 is finally met and there is no sign of topping yet. Intraday bias stays on the upside for further rally. But as rise from 1.2661 is seen as a corrective move, upside should be limited by 1.3316 key fibonacci level to bring near term reversal. On the downside, break of 1.3042 resistance turn support will argue that rebound from 1.2661 might be completed. In such case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2784 support to confirm.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4062). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3033; (P) 1.3116; (R1) 1.3198; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral first and further rally is in favor with 1.2993 minor support intact. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3209 should confirm completion of correction from 1.3514 at 1.2725. Further rally should be seen to retest 1.3514 next. On the downside, however, break of 1.2993 will turn bias to the downside for 1.2725 low instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 is expected resume after correction from 1.3514 completes. Next target is 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. However, sustained break of 1.2582 resistance turned support will dampen these views and bring retest of 1.1958 low instead.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD recovered last week but upside was capped below 1.2799 resistance. Initial bias remains neutral this week and more consolidations could be seen. On the downside, break of 1.2546 will resume whole fall from 1.3141 to 61.8% projection of 1.3141 to 1.2618 from 1.2799 at 1.2476. However, on the upside, firm break of 1.2799 will indicate that the correction from 1.3141 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 1.3141.

But outlook will be neutral at best as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, and consolidation from there is set to extend, until further development.

In the long term picture, sustained trading above 55 M EMA (now at 1.2902) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal, and target 1.4248 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.0351 at 1.4480) for confirmation. Nevertheless, rejection by 55 M EMA will maintain long term bearishness for downside resumption at a later stage.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3079; (P) 1.3173; (R1) 1.3229; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Further rise expected as long as 1.3105 minor support holds. Break of 1.3284 will extend the rebound from 1.2905 to retest 1.3514 high. On the downside, break of 1.3105 will turn bias back to the downside for 38.2% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2920.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3816; (P) 1.3846; (R1) 1.3899; More

GBP/USD is still extending the consolidation from 1.3982 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Outlook is unchanged that corrective pattern from 1.4240 could have completed with three waves down to 1.3570. On the upside, break of 1.3982 will resume the rise from 1.3570 to retest 1.4248 high. However, break of 1.3766 support will dampen this bullish view and bring retest of 1.3570.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed. GBP/USD would then be seen in another leg of long term range pattern between 1.1409 and 1.4376. Deeper fall could then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.2493, and even below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2395; (P) 1.2496; (R1) 1.2551; More

GBP/USD’s sharp decline and strong break of 1.2468 minor support suggests that rebound from 1.2108 is completed at 1.2614 already. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside for 1.2108 support next. Overall, price actions from 1.1946 are viewed as a consolidation pattern pattern. Break of 1.2108 support will be the first sign of larger down trend resumption and would target 1.1946 low for confirmation. On the upside, above 1.2614 will bring another rise. In that case, we’d expect upside to be limited by 1.2705/2774 to bring down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3792; (P) 1.3841; (R1) 1.3894; More….

GBP/USD rebounds strongly today. But it’s still staying below 1.3929 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, firm break of 1.3929 will be the first sign of reversal. That is, the choppy pull back from 1.4345 could have completed at 1.3711 already. In this case, intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.4144 resistance for confirming this bullish view. On the downside, break of 1.3711 will resume the decline from 1.4345 through 1.3651 resistance turned support. At this point, we’ll look for strong support from 38.2% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4345 at 1.3429 to contain downside and bring rebound.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3038 support holds, medium term outlook in GBP/USD will remains bullish. Rise from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rally would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. However, GBP/USD fails to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4259) so far. Break of 1.3038 support, will suggest that rise from 1.1946 has completed and will turn outlook bearish for retesting this low.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2444; (P) 1.2474; (R1) 1.2499; More

GBP/USD is still stuck in tight range inside 1.2376/2614 and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. Overall outlook is unchanged that price actions from 1.1946 are viewed as a consolidation pattern pattern. On the downside, break of 1.2376 will turn bias to the downside for 1.2108 support. Decisive break there will be an early sign of larger down trend resumption. On the upside, break of 1.2614 will extend the rise from 1.2108. But upside should be limited by 1.2705/2774 resistance zone to bring larger down trend resumption eventually.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2175; (P) 1.2239; (R1) 1.2283; More….

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook and intraday bias remains on the downside. Corrective rebound from 1.1958 should have completed at 1.2582. Fall from 1.2582 should extend lower to retest 1.1946/58 key support zone. On the upside, though, above 1.2413 will bring another rebound to 1.2582 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, we’d remain cautious on medium term bottoming around 1.1946 (2016 low). Sustained trading above 55 week EMA (now at 1.2727) will extend the consolidation pattern from 1.1946 with another rise to 1.4376 resistance. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.1946 will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3766; (P) 1.3800; (R1) 1.3859; More

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.3833 temporary top and intraday bias remains neutral. Further rise is expected as long as 1.3646 support holds. Above 1.3833 will resume the rebound from 1.3410 to 1.3912 key structural resistance. Firm break there will indicate that the correction from 1.4248 is complete with three waves down to 1.3410. Further rally would then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. However, break of 1.3646 will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.3410 low.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s corrective fall from 1.3514 extended to as low as 1.2725 last week, and touched 50% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2736. Further fall is expected this week as long as 1.3018 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement at 1.2552. We’d look for strong support from there to bring rebound.

In the bigger picture, current decline from 1.3514 is seen as corrective the rally form 1.1958. Such rally is expected to resume latter to 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. However, sustained break of 1.2582 resistance turned support will dampen these views and bring retest of 1.1958 low instead.

In the longer term picture, it’s still unsure whether long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) has completed at 1.1946 already. Focus is immediately on 55 month EMA (now at 1.3489) and sustained break will be the first serious sign of long term reversal. Further break of trend line resistance (now at 1.3922) will be another signal. Focus would then be turned to 1.4376 key resistance for confirmation.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2693; (P) 1.2729; (R1) 1.2783; More….

GBP/USD rebound to as high as 1.2814 but failed to take out 1.2811 resistance decisively. Intraday bias stays neutral first and larger decline remains in favor to resume later. On the downside, below 1.2615 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2476 low first. Break will resume the fall from 1.4376. However, considering bullish convergence condition in daily MACD, firm break of 1.2811 will be an early signal of trend reversal and bring further rally to 1.3174 resistance.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). And this will now remain the preferred case as long as 1.3174 structural resistance holds. GBP/USD should target a test on 1.1946 first. Decisive break there will confirm our bearish view.
