GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2672; (P) 1.2704; (R1) 1.2736; More…

Gold’s rise from 1.2517 resumed by breaking through 1.2708 and intraday bias is back on the upside. Further rally would be seen to 1.2826 resistance first. Firm break there will target 61.8% projection of 1.2036 to 1.2826 from 1.2517 at 1.3005 next. For now, further rise will remain in favor as long as 1.2599 support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which could be still in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2517 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2018; (P) 1.2037; (R1) 1.2060; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.1914 extends higher today but stays well below 1.2269 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral and another fall could still be seen. Below 1.1914 will resume the fall from 1.2446, as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.2445, to 1.1840 support and possibly below. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.2269 will bring retest of 1.2445/6 resistance.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3743; (P) 1.3767; (R1) 1.3793; More

GBP/USD rebounds after drawing support from 4 hour MACD, but stays below 1.3838 temporary top. Intraday bias remains neutral first. Further rise is expected with 1.3646 support intact. On the upside, above 1.3833 will target 1.3912 key structural resistance. Firm break there will indicate that the correction from 1.4248 is complete with three waves down to 1.3410. Further rally would then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. However, break of 1.3646 will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.3410 low.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3700; (P) 1.3724; (R1) 1.3768; More….

GBP/USD’s break of 1.3758 resistance now suggests that up trend from 1.1409 has resumed. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956 next. On the downside, break of 1.3679 minor support will turn bias neutral and bring more consolidations again.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. On the downside, break of 1.2675 support is needed to indicate completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1052; (P) 1.1143; (R1) 1.1260; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.0351 is in progress and intraday bias stays on the upside, Further rally would be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.2292 to 1.0351 at 1.1551. On the downside, break of 1.0914 minor support will indicate that the rebound is over, and bring retest of 1.0351 low.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Next target is 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532. There is no scope of a medium term rebound as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2794; (P) 1.2861; (R1) 1.2898; More….

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.3012 and intraday bias remains neutral first. For now, downside attempt should be contained by 1.2768 support. On the upside, break of 1.3012 will resume whole rally from 1.1958. However, break of 1.2768 will bring deeper fall back to 1.2582 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom was formed at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds. However, firm break of 1.2582 will turn focus back to 1.1946 low.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3750; (P) 1.3803; (R1) 1.3839; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the downside, firm break of 1.3730 support will suggest that rise from 1.3601 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.3570/3601 support zone. On the upside, break of 1.3890 will target 1.3982 resistance first. Decisive break there will indicate that fall from 1.4248 has completed. Near term outlook will be turned bullish for retesting 1.4248.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, we’d still treat price actions from 1.4248 as a corrective move. That is, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is in favor to resume. Decisive break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) would indeed carry long term bullish implications. However, sustained break of 1.3482 will at least bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, or even further to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2612; (P) 1.2661; (R1) 1.2710; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, break of 1.2708 resistance will indicate that correction from 1.2826 has completed. Intraday bias will be back on the upside for retesting 1.2826. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.2499 will argue that whole rise from 1.2036 has completed and turn near term outlook bearish.

Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3451; (P) 1.3520; (R1) 1.3569; More

GBP/USD is still holding above 1.3134 near term support for the moment. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, break of 1.3624 will target 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956 next. However, firm break of 1.3134 will confirm short term topping and turn bias to the downside for deeper decline.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3308). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2469; (P) 1.2514; (R1) 1.2540; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the downside, break of 1.2429 support suggest that rebound from 1.2154 has completed. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for resting this low. On the upside, above 1.2666 will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.2698) and above.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. On resumption, next target is 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD dipped to 1.2658 last week but failed to break through 1.2661 key support, and turned sideway. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. On the downside, sustained break of 1.2661 low will resume larger down trend from 1.4376. Next target will be 1.1946. On the upside, break of 1.2927 will extend the consolidation from 1.26661 with another rise. But even in case of strong rebound, upside should be limited by 1.3316 fibonacci level to bring down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

In the longer term picture, outlook in GBP/USD is held bearish. Rebound from 1.1946 was rejected solidly by falling 55 month EMA. The pair was limited well below 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946, as well as the decade long falling trend line. On break of 1.1946, next target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD rose further to as high as 1.4240 last week but retreated since then. Initial bias stays neutral this week for more consolidations first. Further rally is expected as long as 1.3828 support holds. Break of 1.4240 will extend the up trend from 1.1409 to 1.4376 long term resistance and then 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.4748. However, firm break of 1.3828 will bring deeper correction to 1.2675/3482 support zone.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. Decisive break there will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. On the downside, break of 1.3482 resistance turned support is needed to be first indication of completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

In the longer term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.1409, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Rise from there would target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Reaction from there would reveal whether rise from 1.1409 is just a correction, or developing into a long term up trend.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2421; (P) 1.2451; (R1) 1.2486; More…

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.2404 and intraday bias remains neutral. Upside but upside of recovery should be limited by 1.2538 support turned resistance to bring another fall. On the downside, firm break of 1.2404 will resume the decline from 1.2892 to 100% projection of 1.2892 to 1.2538 from 1.2708 at 1.2354. Firm break there will target 161.8% projection at 1.2207 next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.2036 support and possibly below. But strong support should emerge from 61.8% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2452 at 1.1417 to complete the correction.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s rally from 1.1801 continued to as high as 1.2421 last week but failed to break through 1.2445/6 resistance zone. With a temporary top formed, initial bias is turned neutral this week first. On the upside, decisive break of 1.2445/6 resistance zone will resume larger rally from 1.0351, and target 1.2759 fibonacci level. However, break of 1.2203 resistance turned support will extend the corrective pattern from 1.2445 with another falling leg, and turn bias back to the downside.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.0351 medium term term bottom (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. Further break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095 could prompt upside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.3895. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.1801 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

In the long term picture, while the rise from 1.0351 (2022 low) has been strong, there is no clear indicate of long term trend resistance yet. As long as 1.4248 resistance holds (2021 high), long term outlook will remain neutral at best.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3347; (P) 1.3403; (R1) 1.3444; More….

GBP/USD recovers mildly today but it’s staying in corrective pattern from 1.3651. Intraday bias remains neutral first. We’d continue to expect strong support from 38.2% retracement of 1.2773 to 1.3651 at 1.3316 to contain downside and bring rally resumption. Break of 1.3651 will turn bias back to the upside for 1.3835 support turned resistance next. Break there will target 55 month EMA (now at 1.4405).

In the bigger picture, current development argues that the long term trend in GBP/USD has reversed. That is, a key bottom was formed back in 1.1946 on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Current rise from 1.1946 will target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466 next. In any case, medium term outlook will now stay bull

On the upside, sustained break of 1.4240 will resume larger up trend from 1.1409, for 1.4376 key resistance next. On the downside, however, firm break of 1.4082 will extend the consolidation from 1.4240 with another falling leg. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.4008 resistance turned support first.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2213; (P) 1.2257; (R1) 1.2284; More

GBP/USD’s decline is still in progress and intraday bias stays on the downside at this point. Current fall from 1.3141 should target 1.2075 fibonacci level. On the upside, above 1.2369 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations. But near term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.2618 support turned resistance holds, in case of strong recovery.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. However, sustained break of 1.2075 will raise the chance of bearish trend reversal and target 1.1801 structural support next.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. with 1.2844 minor support intact, further rise is mildly in favor. However, as we are still viewing price actions from 1.1946 as a corrective move, we’d expect upside to be limited below 1.3444 resistance to bring near term reversal. On the downside, break of 1.2844 will indicate short term topping and turn bias back to the downside for 1.2614 resistance turned support first.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There are signs of reversal, like breaking of 55 week EMA, weekly MACD turned positive, and monthly MACD crossed above signal line. But still, break of 1.3444 resistance is need to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remains bearish for extend the down trend through 1.1946 low.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

GBP/USD is staying in range of 1.2675/3007 and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, firm break of 1.3007 resistance will suggest that decline from 1.3482 is merely a corrective move and has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 1.3482. On the downside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690 will argue that the rise from 1.1409 might be completed, and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2201.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 was strong, it’s limited by both 1.3514 resistance, as well as 55 month EMA (now at 1.3310). The development keeps outlook bearish. Sustained break of 55 week EMA (now at 1.2756) will add to medium term bearishness for a new low below 1.1409 at a later stage, resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2899; (P) 1.2977; (R1) 1.3029; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside as fall from 1.3217 is still in progress. Current development suggests that rebound from 1.2391 has completed at 1.3217, after rejection by 1.3174 key resistance. Further fall should be seen to 1.2814 resistance turned support first. Break will bring retest of 1.2391 low. On the upside, break of 1.3217 resistance is needed to confirm resumption of the rebound. Otherwise, risk will now stay on the downside in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, the rejection by 1.3174 key resistance revived the original view on GBP/USD. That is, decline from 1.4376 is possibly resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Firm break of 1.2391 will solidify this bearish case and target 1.1946 (2016 low). However, decisive break of 1.3174 will invalidate this bearish case again and turn outlook bullish.
