USD/CHF Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0011; (P) 1.0056; (R1) 1.0102; More…..

USD/CHF strengthens notably today but stays in range of 0.9966/1.0140. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. With 0.9966 support intact, further rise is in favor. Above 1.0140 will turn bias to the upside and target a test on 1.0342 resistance. Based on neutral medium term outlook, we’d be cautious on topping at around 1.0342. Meanwhile, break of 0.9966 will indicate completion of the rebound from 0.9860. And intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 0.9860.

In the bigger picture, prior rejection from 1.0327 resistance argues that USD/CHF is staying in a medium term sideway pattern. In any case, decisive break of 1.0342 resistance is needed to confirm underlying strength. Otherwise, we’ll stay neutral in the pair first. In case of another fall, we’d expect strong support from 0.9443/9548 support zone. Meanwhile firm break of 1.0342 will target 38.2% retracement of 1.8305 to 0.7065 at 1.1359.

The break of 1.0118 suggests that rebound from 0.9860 has resumed. Intraday bias in USD/CHF is turned back to the upside. As noted before, fall from 1.0342 could have finished at 0.9860 already. Current rise would now target a test on 1.0342. Based on neutral medium term outlook, we’d be cautious on topping at around 1.0342. On the downside, break of 0.9966 support is needed to confirm completion of the rebound. Otherwise, further rally will remain mildly in favor in case of retreat.

USD/CHF Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.9642; (P) 0.9687; (R1) 0.9765; More

USD/CHF’s rise from 0.9582 is still in progress and intraday bias remains on the upside for 0.9772 resistance. Decisive break there will revive the bullish case of reversal. That is, whole decline from 1.0342 has completed at 0.9437 after defending 0.9443 support. USD/CHF should then target channel resistance (now at 0.9880) next. On the downside, below 0.9675 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. Also, the pair is bounded inside medium term falling channel and limited below 38.2% retracement of 1.0342 to 0.9437 at 0.9783 for the moment. Break of 0.9582 will dampen our bullish view and turn bias back to the downside for 0.9437. This could also extend the fall from 1.0342 through 0.9437/43 key support level.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that USD/CHF has successfully defended 0.9443 key support level. And long term range trading in 0.9443/1.0342 is extending with another rise. At this point, there is no sign of an up trend yet. Hence, while further rise is expected in USD/CHF, we’ll start to be cautious on loss of momentum above 61.8% retracement of 1.0342 to 0.9437 at 0.9996. However, firm break of 0.9443 will carry larger bearish implication and would target next key support at 0.9072.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.9149; (P) 0.9166; (R1) 0.9192; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CHF remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, break of 0.9200 resistance will argue that fall from 0.9372 has completed with three waves down to 0.9101. Intraday bias will be back on the upside for 0.9372 resistance. On the downside, sustained break of 0.9084 support should confirm that choppy rise from 0.8925 has completed, and suggests that fall from 0.9471 is resuming. Deeper decline would be seen through 0.8925.

In the bigger picture, the corrective structure of the rebound from 0.8925 argues that fall from 0.9471 is not complete yet. It could either be the second leg of pattern from 0.8756 (2021 low), or resuming larger down trend from 1.0237 (2018 high). We’d pay attention to the downside momentum and assess the odds later. But for now, medium term outlook will be neutral at best as long as 0.9471 resistance holds.

USD/CHF Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.9339; (P) 0.9365; (R1) 0.9405; More

Intraday bias in USD/CHF remains neutral as consolidation from 0.9186 is extending. Also, outlook stays mildly bearish with 0.9469 resistance intact and another decline is in favor. On the downside, break of 0.9186 will extend the larger down trend to 0.9115 medium term projection level next. However, considering bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 0.9469 will indicate near term reversal and turn outlook bullish for 55 day EMA (now at 0.9517) and above.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.0342 is seen as a medium term down trend. Deeper decline should be seen to 100% projection of 1.0342 to 0.9420 from 1.0037 at 0.9115. Break will target 161.8% projection at 0.8545. In any case, sustained trading above 55 day EMA is needed to be the first sign of medium term reversal. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish even in case of strong rebound.

USD/CHF Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.9908; (P) 0.9928; (R1) 0.9965; More…..

Intraday bias in USD/CHF remains neutral for the moment. With 0.9999 minor resistance holds, deeper decline is mildly in favor. Below 0.9890 will target 0.9812 and below to extend the correction from 1.0342. But break of 0.9812 should be brief and we will look for bottoming signal below there. On the upside, above 0.9999 minor resistance argues that fall from 1.0107 is finished, with bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD. In that case, intraday bias will be flipped back to the upside for 1.0107 resistance first.

In the bigger picture, we’re still maintaining that firm break of 1.0342 key resistance is needed to confirm underlying bullish momentum in the pair. However, the corrective nature of the fall from 1.0342 is starting to give the medium term outlook a bullish favor. Hence, in stead of looking for topping signal around 1.0342, we’d now pay closer attention to upside acceleration as USD/CHF approaches this level again.

USD/CHF’s rebound form 0.9186 extends higher but it’s still limited below 0.9469 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral at this point. On the upside, considering bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 0.9469 will indicate near term reversal and turn outlook bullish for 55 day EMA (now at 0.9513) and above. On the downside, below 0.9321 minor support will bring retest of 0.9186. Break there will extend the larger down trend to 0.9115 medium term projection level next.

USD/CHF is staying in consolidation pattern from 0.9860 and intraday bias stays neutral first. With 1.0043 minor resistance intact, deeper decline is expected. Current fall from 1.0342 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0327. Below 0.9860 will target 61.8% retracement of 0.9443 to 1.0342 at 0.9786 and below. On the upside, break of 1.0043 will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias back to the upside.

In the bigger picture, rejection from 1.0327 resistance suggests that consolidation pattern from there is still in progress. Fall from 1.0342 is seen as the third leg and retest of 0.9443/9548 support zone could be seen. But we’d expect strong support from there to contain downside. At this point, we’re still expecting the larger rally to resume later to 38.2% retracement of 1.8305 to 0.7065 at 1.1359, after the consolidation completes.

Intraday bias in USD/CHF remains at this point. On the downside, below 0.9156 will target 0.9084 support. Firm break there should confirm that choppy rise from 0.8925 has completed, and suggests that fall from 0.9471 is resuming. Deeper decline would be seen through 0.8925. On the upside, break of 0.9293 will suggest that the pull back from 0.9372 is finished. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 0.9372.

In the bigger picture, the corrective structure of the rebound from 0.8925 argues that fall from 0.9471 is not complete yet. Intraday bias in USD/CHF remains neutral as consolidation form 0.9897 is still in progress. At this point, with 0.9999 minor resistance intact, deeper fall is still in favor. Below 0.9897 temporary low will turn bias to the downside for 0.9812 and possibly below. Nonetheless, whole decline from 1.0342 is seen as a correction. Hence, we’ll look for bottoming signal below 0.9812. Meanwhile, on the upside, above 0.9999 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.0107 resistance.

In the bigger picture, we’re still maintaining that firm break of 1.0342 key resistance is needed to confirm underlying bullish momentum in the cross. However, the corrective nature of the fall from 1.0342 is starting to give the medium term outlook a bullish favor. As noted before, rise from 0.9443 has completed at 1.0342 already, after failing to sustain above 1.0327 key resistance. USD/CHF Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.9664; (P) 0.9689; (R1) 0.9735; More

USD/CHF remains bounded in range below 0.9726 and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Another rise is expected as long as 0.9594 support holds. Prior break of 0.9699 resistance suggests near term reversal after defending 0.9443 key support. Above 0.9726 will target 38.2% retracement of 1.0342 to 0.9437 at 0.9783 first. Break will target channel resistance (now at 0.9899). However, firm break of 0.9594 will dampen this bullish view and turn bias back to the downside for 0.9437.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that 0.9443 key support (2016 low) could be taken out firmly as down trend form 1.0342 extends. There are various interpretation of the price actions. But in any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 0.9772 resistance holds. Intraday bias in USD/CHF remains cautiously on the upside. Rise from 0.9420 is resuming and should target 61.8% retracement of 1.0342 to 0.9420 at 0.9990 next.
