CFTC Commitments of Traders – NET LENGTH on Gold Declined as Traders Trimmed Bets on Both Sides

According to the CFTC Commitments of Traders report for the week ended November 12, NET LENGTH for crude oil futures gained +18 457 contracts to 424 597 for the week. Speculative long positions declined -25 944 contracts while shorts slumped -44 401 contracts. For refined oil products, NET LENGTH for gasoline declined -5 814 contracts to 74 188, while NET SHORT for heating oil added +500 contracts to 757 for the week. NET SHORT for natural gas futures plunged -15 049 contracts to 121 088 contracts for the week. NET LENGTH for gold futures declined -12 762 contracts to 267 066. Speculative long positions plunged -21 402 contracts, while shorts fell -8 640. Silver futures saw decrease in NET LENGTH, by -10 633 contracts to 37 364. Speculative long positions fell -7 847 contracts while shorts added +2 786. For PGMs, NET LENGTH of Nymex platinum futures fell -7 236 contracts to 38 459 while that for palladium decreased -1 184 contracts to 11 106.
